Re-Colonization at Oklahoma Beta
Last Summer, Phi Delta Theta GHQ placed two Leadership Consultants (newly graduated Phis from other schools) on campus to recruit young men currently attending OSU to establish a colony. On October 2, 2016, their efforts were realized when 49 young men participated in a recognition ceremony to re-colonize Phi Delta Theta at Oklahoma State University. At the ceremony, these men received their Colony Pins and Phi Delta Theta manuals.
The colony members are working at meeting chartering prerequisites; that when accomplished, the colony will be installed as a chapter of Phi Delta Theta and the individuals will be initiated into the Bond using our current legacy numbering structure. As a colony, the members will take on many of the responsibilities, activities, and obligations that we accept as normal Oklahoma Beta operations. The colony has by-laws, elects officers, operates on a budget, holds colony-centric chapter meetings, hosts social engagements, utilizes GHQ resources, etc.
Most importantly, the colony will be responsible for conducting Rush for Spring/Summer of 2017 and will move into the House at 224 S. Monroe for the upcoming fall semester.
